Made a transfer to an incorrect or inactive account? Here’s what to do
If you sent money to an incorrect account
It’s quite simple, really. You can solve it by cancelling the transfer through the transfer menu. This is totally free, and your money will be returned to you instantly. To make it even easier for you, we've put together a step-by-step guide on how to cancel a Paysera transfer.
Alternatively, there’s also a longer way, if for any reason you prefer that (no judgement here). When the recipient’s account details are incorrect, your transfer will automatically return to your account within 30 days.
If you sent money to an inactive account
It gets a bit more complicated if you transfer money to an inactive account, but still possible to resolve.
Despite the recipient's inactivity on their Paysera account, acquiring their consent for a refund remains a necessary step. Without the recipient’s permission to refund you, our hands are tied.
But if that's not an option, we're here to help. We can step in and contact the account holder on your behalf to request a refund. Just keep in mind that getting in touch with them might take some time. Once we get their approval for the refund, we can return the money to you right away. Just note that there will be a small fee involved.
What if it’s your own account that you can’t access?
We totally understand that mistakes happen – we've seen it before, and there's absolutely no need to worry about it. It's possible that you may have transferred money to another Paysera account, only to discover that this other account wasn't set up correctly.
What can be done to fix this? Simply give us a call using our official contact information, and we'll return your transfer to your main account.
Now, here's a bit of a twist: we'll have to close the incorrectly opened account – the one you were unable to access. But hey, every cloud has a silver lining, right?
If you still need a second IBAN account, just let our client support specialist know, and we'll guide you through the correct process to open it. This way, you can avoid such issues in the future, and peacefully enjoy both of your accounts!
