A gesture of solidarity: Paysera released a payment card design displaying the flag of Ukraine
The fintech company Paysera has introduced two new designs for Visa payment cards, which will replace the current design. With one of the new payment cards, the company expresses solidarity and support for Ukraine.
“Displaying Ukrainian flags on buildings, cars, and balconies, as well as wearing clothes bearing the country's colours are all gestures of solidarity with Ukraine, as well as a strong statement of our values. Every day, we work with 50 Ukrainian employees and advise 73,500 clients from all over Ukraine, so we are well aware that the support shown by Europeans is very much appreciated and valued. The new payment card is another gesture of solidarity with Ukraine,” says Gintautas Mežetis, CEO of Paysera.
An estimated 800 people ordered the Ukrainian flag card during the two-week test period after it became available. The card can be linked to both personal and business accounts.
Alongside the Ukrainian flag card, Paysera introduced a new payment card reflecting the company's new visual identity, which was rebranded starting with the company's logo in spring 2022.
Paysera would like to remind everyone that clients with cards featuring an older design do not need to take any action, as the previously issued cards will remain valid until their expiration date. Once their existing card expires, clients will receive renewed cards with the new design.
Paysera will provide the opportunity to replace cards that have not expired, but urges its clients to consider the environment and recommends that they do not replace cards that are valid for longer periods.
Just like the current Visa payment cards, the new Visa payment cards can be linked to Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay contactless payment methods on your phone.
Paysera was one of the first financial institutions in the world to announce the suspension of transfers to and from Russia and the closure of accounts for Russian citizens on 23 February 2022 (the day before the war began). In response to the Ukrainians fleeing the war, Paysera adapted one of its office floors in Vilnius to the needs of refugees and accommodated more than 25 Ukrainians, employing several of them. And in December, the company sent a generator and Christmas presents to an orphanage in the Kyiv region.
